Veliky Novgorod Conducts Minelaying Training in the Black Sea

The crew of the submarine (pl) “Veliky Novgorod” of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) conducted an exercise on setting up underwater minefields at a maritime training ground in the Black Sea.

According to the plan of the exercise, the crew of the submarine “Veliky Novgorod”, using stealth as the main advantage against the surface ship, laid mines on the proposed route of the naval groupings of the imaginary enemy.

The event was held in accordance with the plan of combat training of the naval forces to support the sea minesweeper “Kovrovets”.

During the exercise, the submariners worked out the actions of laying minefields in the designated areas and successfully fulfilled the time standards established for this exercise. In addition to time standards, the accuracy of the installation of a minefield in a given area was checked.

The crew of the sea minesweeper “Kovrovets” after the completion of the exercise by the submarine “Veliky Novgorod” performed the selection of training mines, having worked out the actions as intended.

The placement of underwater minefields is an obligatory element of the combat training cycle for submarine crews.
