Bangladesh Navy to Procure Five Vessels from the UK

Bangladesh will buy five warships from the UK, in the meantime two will be built in Bangladesh and three in the UK. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen gave information at a virtual press conference on Friday (5 November). Foreign Secretary Masood Bin Momen and Ambassador of Bangladesh to the UK Saida Mona Tasnim were present at the press conference.

The foreign minister said, “It has been a very warm discussion with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.”

He said, “UK wants to send some ships of Naval Force to Bangladesh. Final decision on this will be later. But we morally agree that five ships will take. Already three stars will make and two we will do. They will do development work on our ship building dock.”
