On patrol towards the Indian Ocean, the air defense frigate Chevalier Paul made a stopover at Port Safaga, a naval base of the Egyptian Navy in the Red Sea, from October 17 to 21, 2021. This stopover in Egypt was an opportunity to organize a meeting on board, in the presence of Rear Admiral Jacques Fayard, Commander of the Indian Ocean Maritime Zone, the Commander of the Southern Egyptian Fleet and the Commander of the Red Sea Naval Base, to discuss the challenges linked to a strategic area which forms the junction between the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
The Chevalier Paul resumed Wed, October 21 to participate in a bilateral training with the Egyptian frigate Alexandria .
