PLA Navy (PLAN) Training Sailing Ship PO LANG has arrived at Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT), George Town this morning from Colombo, Sri Lanka October 23.

The arrival of the ship was welcomed by a TLDM delegation headed by the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations at the Western Fleet Government Headquarters, Chief of Staff Hj Shaiful Fadzli bin Ismail TLDM, representatives of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Pulau Pinang as well as several representatives of federal and state government agencies.

The PLAN PO LANG ship was welcomed with military traditions accompanied by a presentation from the Pancaragam Troops KD SULTAN ISMAIL.

‘PO LANG’ is an 86 meter long training sailing ship which is on training cruises in several countries with the next destination being Singapore. To strengthen diplomatic relations between the PLA Navy and TLDM, the Flotila Chairman and PLAN PO LANG Commanding Officer will pay a courtesy visit to TLDM representatives at the Pinang Island Navy Deputy Office, tomorrow. PLAN PO LANG will also be visited by the crew of the TLDM Sailing Ship, namely KLD TUNAS SAMUDERA and several government agencies as an opportunity to share and share knowledge and technology.

The presence of PLAN PO LANG in Pulau Pinang until October 26 will definitely revitalize the economic sector with tourism activities and so on.
