Naval Aeromobile Group (GNAM) in the Mediterranean

Since Monday, September 27, 2021, the French Navy and the Army have been mobilizing their forces to deploy a Naval Aeromobile Group (GNAM) in the Mediterranean, as part of the Cormoran 21 exercise.

For the first time, the GNAM is deployed from two amphibious helicopter carriers (PHA), the Tonnerre and the Mistral . It is commanded by a joint staff, made up half of soldiers from the French Air Force for Rapid Reaction (FRMARFOR) and the 4th Air Combat Brigade (4th BAC), deployed aboard the Tonnerre .

In an unpublished volume, PHA two boarded 24 utility helicopters and assault the 1st , 3rd and 5th Regiments combat helicopters (RHC) which will result, during the next three weeks, following scenarios complex and realistic, to the conduct of coastal operations, in harsh environments.
