On September 29, 2024, while on patrol in the Caribbean Sea north of Haiti , the surveillance frigate (FS) Ventôse took advantage of its deployment to conduct training with USCGC Valiant.

During the day, the Ventôse and the Valiant carried out presentations for refueling at sea, exercises which allowed the two crews to develop their navigation skills and to strengthen the interoperability of the French vessel with the USCG.

These maneuvers concluded with a courtesy visit to the Ventôse by several American sailors who were able to discover the surveillance frigate and share a moment of conviviality while having lunch with the French crew.

These exchanges allowed the American coast guards and the sailors of the Ventôse to strengthen the sharing of experience concerning the fight against drug trafficking in the Caribbean zone .

The air-maritime component of the armed forces in the Antilles (FAA) participates very regularly in missions relating to State action at sea, in particular the fight against illicit trafficking and the protection of the marine environment.

In addition, the FAA is continuing to develop military cooperation with its allies and partners in the Caribbean region.
