Amur Shipyard Prepares for Keel Laying of Project 20380 Hrabryj

The multipurpose corvette of project 20380 “Hrabryj ” on September 29 will be solemnly laid at PJSC Amur Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation). The date of laying the corvette on September 29 was set by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

On the instructions of Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, the head of the shipbuilding department, Captain 1st Rank Ilyas Shigapov, will take part in the ceremony of laying the new corvette.

It is planned that the ceremony will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and the Navy, the Pacific Fleet, the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory and the administration of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Ministry of Defense of Russia and the Navy, as well as representatives of United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC; JSC “CMDB “Almaz”.

As the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov noted at a working meeting on surface shipbuilding, which took place in the Admiralty, “Corvettes of project 20380 are able to solve a wide range of tasks as part of heterogeneous fleet groups and alone. These ships have effective weapons, high maneuverability and excellent handling. The ships of this project have unique technical parameters and the composition of weapons for operations in the maritime zone”

“The Navy has worked out the organization of crew training for the ships of this project, which allows the personnel to professionally master new equipment and weapons in a short time,” said Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.

The corvette of project 20380 is designed for operations in the sea zone and combating surface ships and submarines of the enemy, as well as for artillery support of the sea landing during amphibious operations by applying missile and artillery strikes on ships at sea and bases, patrolling the area of responsibility.
