Project 22800 Askold Launched at Butoma Shipyard in Kerch

On September 21 in Kerch at the shipyard named after B. E. Butoma under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov will be held a solemn ceremony of launching a new small rocket ship “Askold” project 22800. The Commander-in-Chief of the Navy has already arrived in Kerch, accompanied by a working group of admirals and officers of the Main Command of the Navy.

The small rocket ship “Askold” will be the second ship of project 22800, built at the Kerch enterprise. The first – “Cyclone” was launched at the end of summer last year, and is currently undergoing a complex of tests in Novorossiysk, the third – “Amur” is under construction on the factory slipway, hull work has been completed on order, equipment is being installed.

It is planned that on the same day, the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, accompanied by the heads of the relevant departments of the Main Command of the Navy, will check the progress of surface shipbuilding at the B. E. Butoma Shipyard and get acquainted with the activities of the plant’s management for the development of the production capacities of the enterprise.
