Peru Maritime Authority Monitors Foreign Fishing Fleet

On Saturday, September 4, the National Maritime Authority – General Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guard, arranged a maritime exploration flight in order to monitor the foreign fishing fleet dedicated to fishing for giant squid, showing that it is carrying out its operations. activities at a distance of approximately 260 nautical miles from our coasts, outside our National Maritime Domain.

Currently, this Directorate carries out control and surveillance actions in real time and without interruption, using the Aquatic Traffic Information and Monitoring System (SIMTRAC) and the Coast Stations installed along our coastline, as well as the constant deployment of exploration aircraft maritime and coast guard surface units, among others.

In this way, the National Maritime Authority reiterates its commitment to safeguard and protect our natural resources, repressing illegal activities in our territory.
