The frigate Regele Ferdinand returned to the Constanta military port on Monday, July 15, after participating, during July 4-14, in the multinational Exercise BREEZE 24, organized by the Bulgarian Naval Forces.
The exercise took place in the Port of Burgas, in the territorial waters of Bulgaria, respectively in the international waters of the Black Sea, and brought together troops from Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Great Britain, Poland, Romania, the United States of America and Turkey.
The exercise was also attended by ships from the composition of the task group to combat marine mines in the Black Sea – MCM Black Sea TG (Mine Counter-Measures Black Sea Task Group), among them the naval tug 30 “Sublotenent Alexandru Axente” with a crew of 74 soldiers.
The main goal of the Multinational Exercise BREEZE 24 was to strengthen maritime cooperation and security in the Black Sea region, as well as to increase the level of interoperability and rapid reaction capacity of participating forces.
The “King Ferdinand” frigate had a crew of 240 soldiers on board and executed, together with foreign partners, surface combat, anti-aircraft, anti-submarine and maritime prohibition procedures.
Participating in this multinational exercise was beneficial for the crew, giving them the opportunity to train in a multinational setting and to cooperate closely with North-Atlantic Alliance partners.
