The Philippine Navy (PN) is currently taking part in the 4th International Maritime Security Symposium (IMSS) hosted virtually this year by the Indonesian Navy which began August 23.
Navy Chief Vice Adm. Adeluis Bordado heads the PN delegation participating in this two-day symposium as opening ceremony guest, along with Chief of Naval Staff, Commo. Caesar Bernard Valencia, as presenter, and Office of Naval Strategic Strategic Studies Director, Capt. Willester Robles as participant.
The PN aims to realize its strategic objective of pursuing geopolitical interest and capacity development through the exchange of best practices in maritime security and information exchange through this participation.
The 4th IMSS provides an opportunity for a practical discussion on maritime security issues of mutual interests with participants from the Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) and Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) members and observers. With this years theme, International Maritime Cooperation for Security, Peace, and Prosperity the IMSS discusses current issues and developments in maritime security.
