ARC Gloria Visits Dominican Republic

August 13, 2021 – Today, in the middle of a heavy rain, the ship ARC “Gloria” arrived on the island of the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean at the Punta Torrecilla dock, located on the Club Naval station in the city of Santo Domingo, where it will remain until the next Sunday, August 15. Starting tomorrow it will be open to the public.

After its historical visit to the Island of Providencia in the Archipelago department of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, the ship sailed for seven days to the Caribbean Island, to be a participant in the commemoration of the 85 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This visit is part of the training cruise for Cadets who apply the knowledge they have acquired in the classroom, strengthen their sailing skills and learn about different maritime destinations.

On August 20, the ship ARC “Gloria” will arrive in the city of Cartagena, to end this cruise, after three months of sailing in which it visited the ports of Jacksonville in the United States, Veracruz in Mexico, and Puerto Cortés in Honduras. , the Islands of San Andrés and Providencia in Colombia and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
