The General Staff of the Naval Forces organizes in the cities of Constanța, Mangalia, Brăila, Tulcea and Bucharest, a series of activities dedicated to the Romanian Navy Day – August 15. This year, the activities will take place both online and with the participation of the public, in compliance with the measures in place to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
On Friday, August 13, four Romanian military ships and a Turkish military ship will occupy the fixed device in front of the Fleet Command building, on the seafront in Constanța. On August 14th and 15th, they will fly the flag, the jacket and the big peacock, and in the evening they will light the electric peacock.
During the evening, the Military Music of the Naval Forces will support a show, between 19.00 and 20.00, on the Cliff of the Casino in Constanța.
Thanksgiving will be marked on Saturday, August 14, when wreath-laying ceremonies will be organized in Constanța, Mangalia, Brăila and Tulcea, to honor the memory of the seafaring heroes. At the same time, in Constanța will be organized, in the military port, a festivity for awarding emblems, plaques and medals to military and civilian personnel, which obtained meritorious results in the training process of the last year.
Also on Saturday, August 14, the military ports of Constanța, Mangalia, Brăila and Tulcea will be open to the general public, during the “Open Day” event, in strict compliance with SARS-CoV-2 infection prevention measures.
On Sunday, August 15, between 10.00 and 11.00, a ceremony will be organized in the military port of Constanța during which the joint order of the ministers of national defense, transport and administration and interior will be read, after which the battle flags will be awarded to the 56th Frigate Flotilla “Rear Admiral Horia Macellariu” and the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate “Commander Alexandru Cătuneanu”.
Ships at sea, in the device in front of the Fleet Command building, will parade on the route Constanța – Midia and back, and an IAR Puma helicopter, MIG-21 and F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, British “Typhoon” aircraft and a plane American P-8 research will fly over the ship device and the military port of Constanța.
The day will end with the retreat with torches, at 20.30, on the route Casino – Fleet Command – Ovidiu Square and with a fireworks show organized by the City Hall of Constanța.
