ARA Libertad Anchors off El Condor

On August 6th, tall ship ARA Libertad, under the command of Captain Osvaldo Raúl Chiñi, anchored in the resort “El Cóndor” in full view of hundreds of residents who admired the silhouette of the ambassador of the seas. It was the second stop in the defeat between Buenos Aires and Valparaíso (Chile), the first port of the 49th Instructional Voyage.

During the day, the freedom crew witnessed displays of affection and affection that came through different modalities. Municipal authorities also greeted all the sailors, especially the Midshipmen in Commission (GUCOM), wishing them “Good Winds” for the rest of the trip.

In the afternoon, the Navy training ship set sail to a new destination, this time it approached the coast of San Antonio Oeste (Río Negro).

With favorable winds, in the distance that separates Claromecó and the Spa “El Cóndor”, the frigate ARA “Libertad” deployed its sail.

The maneuvers began with the first whistles of the Petty Officer General, Chief Warrant Officer Enrique Duvanced, which were replicated by the other bosses.

Immediately the affected personnel climbed to the top of each mast (Ratchet, Major and Mesana) to begin to loosen the sails. At the same time that the Midshipmen on Commission were maneuvering all the rigging from the main deck. Throughout the navigation they will also train as gavieros.
