RFS Omsk Returns to Kamchatka

August 4, 2021 – In the Kamchatka Territory, at the point of basing of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet), a solemn meeting of the nuclear submarine cruiser Omsk, which returned after completing its tasks, was held.

The commander of the submarine forces of the THF, Vice-Admiral Vladimir Dmitriev, congratulated the crew on the successful completion of the combat mission and traditionally handed the crew a fried pig. The commander noted that the crew once again showed high professionalism and readiness to perform any tasks.

After the congratulations, Vice-Admiral Vladimir Dmitriev presented departmental awards, certificates and valuable gifts to the most distinguished servicemen.

The submariners were congratulated by representatives of the leadership of the local administration, veterans, participants of the Young Army Movement, as well as representatives of the women’s council of the submarine cruiser.

Last year, the nuclear submarine “Omsk” of project 949A took part in the exercises “Ocean Shield – 2020”, which took place in the Barents Sea under the general leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov.
