Pacific Fleet AS-30 Rescue Vehicle to be modernized in St. Petersburg

The deep-sea rescue vehicle AS-30 from the rescue squad of the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia (OKVS) will undergo factory overhaul and modernization in St. Petersburg.

At present, the AS-30 device has been delivered to one of the ship repair enterprises of the northern capital, where, in accordance with the contract, specialists have begun to diagnose the state of systems and units. According to the plan, the device expects repair of engines, navigational and radio equipment, modernization of communications.

After the repair, the deep-sea vehicle will continue to perform tasks to support rescue operations on water as part of the OKVS permanent readiness forces.

Project 1855 Prize AS-30 deep-sea rescue vehicle was built at the Krasnoye Sormovo plant in Nizhny Novgorod. It has the latest telemetry equipment and is capable of operating at depths of up to 1,000 meters. The vehicle is operated by a crew of 5 people.
