JS Hamana Replenishes USS America

On May 22, JS HAMANA conducted joint training in the waters south of Shikoku with USS America, to enhance tactical skills and increase Japan-US interoperability.

Commander of JS HAMANA (CDR KINUYAMA Takeo) stated, “The purpose of this training is to enhance the ability of Japanese and US naval vessels with underway replenishment capabilities to provide bilateral logistic support. The logistic divisions of Japanese and US naval forces are operating more effectively and efficiently based on our strong and enduring alliance in support of front-line units.”

Despite COVID-19, the Self-Defense Fleet remains responsive and integrates with the US Navy in order to safeguard the peace and security of Japan and contribute to support stability in the region.
