NRP Setubal Finishing up the MAR ABERTO Initiative

May 25, 2021 (Google Translation) – During this second visit to Cape Verde (the first took place between the 14th and 20th of March to the city of Praia), the NRP Setúbal received on board the Minister of the Sea, Paulo Lima Veiga accompanied by the Inspector General of Fisheries, Maysa Vera Cruz Rocheteau. Both were received by the ship’s captain, frigate-captain Dias Marques, having had the opportunity to learn about the capabilities of the ocean patrol ship and the Defense cooperation activities carried out on board during the ship’s stay in the ports of Praia and of Mindelo.

The MAR ABERTO Initiative, the first of this year 2021, started on March 1st and will end on May 30th. During these 3 months, in addition to several activities developed at sea, NRP Setúbal visited the ports of Bissau, Praia, Abidjan, São Tomé, Luanda, Lobito, Príncipe Island, Lagos, Accra, and Mindelo.
