Organized by the Cyprus navy, this exercise was to implement ways to SAR ( search and rescue , SAR) from from 7 countries, during a scenario simulating the crash of an aircraft and the disappearance of a passenger ship off Cyprus.
Under the control of the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (the equivalent of a CROSS), this SAR exercise resulted in a complex organization of buildings and aircraft to locate and rescue shipwrecked people.
The Guépratte was responsible for coordinating all search and rescue operations during the day. This work of centralization made it possible to answer all the expectations of the exercise while reinforcing the capacity of interoperability of our respective navies. It was also an opportunity for sailors Guépratte working with a British AB412 helicopter.
