The purpose of this visit was to know and strengthen the bonds of common cooperation on issues such as the fight against drug trafficking and other manifestations of transnational organized crime in the sea; as well as the participation of the Colombian Navy in international crisis management operations.
The delegation visited the Coastguard Station of Cartagena, where it had the opportunity to see the different types of camouflage modalities for drug trafficking and learned about the results obtained in the fight against drug trafficking in the Caribbean. Likewise, the visiting staff learned about the operational capabilities of the Colombian Naval Fleet, onboard ARC Victoria.
The high representatives of the European Union highlighted the great effort and contribution made by the Colombian Navy for the stability and security of the region.
The Colombian Navy will continue to hold such meetings with delegations and Marines from other countries, in order to strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation and combined struggle against all crimes at sea.
