Franco-Australian cooperation for D’Entrecasteaux

September 14, 2018 (Google Translation) – On September 10, 2018, the B2M D’Entrecasteaux sailed for navigation in Sydney Bay, passing under the Harbor Bridge, in front of the Sydney Opera House against the backdrop of the Sydney skyline. This navigation was conducted in formation with three units of the Australian Navy: the frigate HMAS Warramunga and the two mine hunters HMAS Gascoyne and Huon.

Mutual training exercises were conducted with HMAS Warramunga, a frigate who recently cooperated with several French vessels as part of a nine-month Indian Ocean deployment (Thunder BPC, FDA Chevalier Paul and FASM Jean de Vienne) . In addition to these training sessions, tactical maneuvers in training and aviation maneuvers with their Seahawk helicopter on board were conducted with D’Entrecasteaux.

This Franco-Australian military cooperation has strengthened the interoperability between navies bordering the Pacific region.
