The ships of the Caspian Flotilla took part in the final phase of a large-scale tactical exercise with aviation units of the Southern Military District (YUVO).
When performing training missions, a detachment of warships in the small missile ship “Uglich” and a small artillery ship “Astrakhan” entered into a sea battle with a predominantly large group of ships of the conventional enemy.
Exact fire from artillery installations of the AU AK-190 “Universal” destroyed all “enemy” ships.
The Su-30SM, Su-34 aircraft, supported by an alarm from one of the aerodromes of the Southern Military District, provided air support to the Caspian people.
The teaching was held for 3 days. The crews of the ships of the Caspian Flotilla fired artillery guns at ground and above ground conventional enemy. Enemy ships imitated special shields-targets.
Also, the seamen worked out the elements of the maneuvering of the ships when they left the battle and repelled the attacks of the air attacks of the conventional enemy.
The training involved crews of more than 10 ships and vessels of the Caspian Flotilla, as well as about 20 aircraft of the 4th Army Air Force and Air Defense of the South.
