The crew of the ship ARC “20 de Julio” carried out Pre-Antarctic training course in the Bridge Simulator of the Naval Academy of Cadets “Almirante Padilla”, on December 5 and 6 of the current year.

For the first time exercises of this type were carried out in the Bridge Simulator of the Center for Research, Development and Innovation for Maritime Activities, of the Naval School, necessary exercises for the IV Antarctic Expedition, which will begin on December 15th.

Previously the training course was taught in Chile, today thanks to the characteristics that the simulator has, modification is possible. In addition to the Antarctic environment, it has scenarios such as Málaga Bay, Bocas de Ceniza and Bahía de Cartagena.

The objective of these maneuvers is to prepare these men and women of the sea in the operative part, facing the crew, through missions, to situations that may have to be overcome in Antarctica.
