SAREX Search & Rescue Exercise takes place in Peter the Great Gulf

In late November, the Pacific Fleet and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force are holding the SAREX Search & Rescue Exercise.

In course of a planning conference, sides agreed on time and location of the exercise in Vladivostok.

PHILIPPINE SEA (March 28, 2017) Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force ship JS Umigiri (DD-158) participates in a photo exercise with ships of the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group in the Philippine Sea. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend the command and control functions of U.S. 3rd Fleet. In accordance with reached agreements, the destroyer Hamagiri of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is arriving in Vladivostok on November 20.
