On July 8, 2024, for the first time, an H160 helicopter from Flotilla 32F landed on an amphibious helicopter carrier.
Taking advantage of the passage off the coast of Brittany of the amphibious helicopter carrier Tonnerre, whose “Jeanne d’Arc” mission is coming to an end, the helicopter took off from the Lanvéoc-Poulmic naval aviation base to carry out a total of 7 deck landings that will allow it to be qualified for this type of maneuver on a carrier vessel.
The 6 H160 helicopters deployed by the French Navy carry out rescue and counter-terrorism missions on the 3 seafronts of mainland France from shore bases. Their use also contributes to the development of the future Guépard Marine helicopter, which is based on a thorough militarization of the H160.
