Theodore Roosevelt Completes CVN Fueling at Sea Since 2015

USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) successfully completed a fueling at sea (FAS) with guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson (DDG 102), Aug. 21. Halsey Reaches Midpoint of COMPTUEX

USS Halsey (DDG 97) reached the midpoint of its composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG) ahead of an upcoming scheduled deployment. Halsey’s crew has participated in exercises including small boat operations, flight operations, electronic warfare and anti-submarine warfare for the past two weeks. “In terms of training and learning, the crew has exceeded my expectations,” said Cmdr. January 24 2017 – Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) welcomed aboard Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17, Jan. 17, for carrier qualifications in preparation to begin the ship’s work-up cycle.  The flight operations mark the first time aircraft have landed aboard Theodore Roosevelt in almost a year.
