May 2, 2019 – USS Sampson (DDG 102) was returned to the fleet one day ahead of schedule thanks to the teamwork of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility Detachment Everett, Vigor Marine and ship’s force. Vigor Wins USS Sampson Refit Contract

The U.S. Navy has awarded a $42.2 million dollar contract to Vigor for repairs and changes to the guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson. Work on the USS Sampson will be done in Seattle and Everett and may include blasting, painting and surface preparation, as well as work on the ship’s freeboard, struts, rudders, hull, electric infrastructure and other parts. USS Sampson (DDG 102) is scheduled to return to homeport at Naval Station Everett May 9, completing a seven-month deployment.
