June 11, 2019 – n the 75th anniversary of its commissioning, the famous U.S. Navy battleship USS Missouri (BB-43) set sail again with the issuance of the USS Missouri Forever stamp. The U.S. Postal Service celebrated USS Missouri (BB-63) with a Forever stamp. The famed American battleship is being honored to coincide with the 75th anniversary of her commissioning on June 11, 1944 at the Battleship Missouri Memorial in Pearl Harbor. The battleship was affectionately nicknamed “Mighty Mo,” and had one of the most historic roles during World War II.
