Navy Accepts Delivery of USNS Burlington

November 15, 2018 – The Navy accepted delivery of its tenth Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF 10) from Austal USA, Nov. 15. USNS Burlington Launched

The U.S. Navy’s 10th Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) vessel, Burlington (EPF 10), was launched at Austal USA’s shipyard, March 1. The launching of an EPF is a multi-step process at Austal. The ship is constructed in a modular manufacturing facility and is translated to a docking barge and then transported to a dry dock where it can then be submerged into the water and launched. The Navy will christen its newest Expeditionary Fast Transport, the future USNS Burlington (T-EPF 10), during a 10 a.m. CST ceremony Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Austal USA shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. The future USNS Burlington, designated T-EPF 10, will be the first ship in naval service to honor Burlington, Vermont’s largest city. Keel Authenticated for Burlington

The U.S. Navy held a keel laying and authentication ceremony for its 10th expeditionary fast transport (EPF) vessel, Burlington (EPF 10), Sept. 26.
