RFS Oslyabya Exercises With Weapons in Sea of Japan

Practising sea elements of the standard task K-2 (single ship operations at sea), the major amphibious ship Oslyabya of the Pacific Fleet, carried out a series of artillery firings in the Sea of Japan. Sailing in a range, the ship conducted an exercise on her air defence against the enemy’s air attack with artillery fire. The MAS gunners also successfully delivered artillery fire at the towed shield. Currently, 5 combatant ships of the Pacific Fleet, including the MAS Oslyabya, are performing the combat training tasks in the assigned ranges.

Pacific Fleet Long-Range ASW Air Force conducts practical bombing to engage sea targets

Today, in accordance with the PF Naval Air Force combat training plan, the Tu-142MZ long-range ASW aircraft carried out practical bombing to engage sea targets. While flying, the ASW aircraft practiced the assigned tasks – search, identification and tracking of the simulated enemy’s ships. Simulated targets were defeated by the P-50T aerial bombs. In addition, anti-submarine pilots trained in using radar and hydro-acoustic detection means, setting buoys, receiving and analyzing the information transmitted by them. SAREX Search & Rescue Exercise takes place in Peter the Great Gulf

In late November, the Pacific Fleet and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force are holding the SAREX Search & Rescue Exercise. In course of a planning conference, sides agreed on time and location of the exercise in Vladivostok. In accordance with reached agreements, the destroyer Hamagiri of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is arriving in Vladivostok on November 20.
