February 11, 2019 – Military Sealift Command-chartered container ship MV Ocean Giant has successfully completed cargo operations at the ice-pier at the National Science Foundation’s McMurdo Station, Antarctica. The operation was part of MSC’s annual resupply mission in support of Operation Deep Freeze, the Joint Task Force Support for Antarctica mission to the NSF-managed U.S. Antarctic Program. January 7, 2019 – The Military Sealift Command (MSC) charter ship MV Ocean Giant is en route to Antarctica after recent cargo operations in Port Hueneme in support of the annual Operation Deep Freeze (ODF) resupply mission. Beginning in late December, a team from MSC including Navy Reservists from MSC’s Expeditionary Port Unit (EPU) 114 coordinated all aspects of the loadout of nearly seven million pounds of cargo. Military Sealift Command Chartered Ships Complete Operation Deep Freeze Resupply Mission

February 7, 2017 – Military Sealift Command ships have completed their resupply mission to Antarctica and their support of Operation Deep Freeze 2017. MSC chartered ship MT Maersk Peary competed its offload of nearly 6 million gallons of diesel and jet fuel at the McMurdo Station ice-pier yesterday, departing after nearly a week of around-the-clock operations.
