October 8, 2019 – The five naval shipbuilding primes have signed a landmark Industry Strategic Workforce Plan with the Naval Shipbuilding College that will boost our sovereign capability to design, build and sustain Australia’s naval capabilities. Arafura Class Milestone

March 21, 2019 – The keel of the first Arafura class offshore patrol vessel has officially been constructed on time and on budget. More than 50 tonnes of Australian steel has been assembled at Osborne Naval Shipyard, satisfying the contractual requirement for keel construction of the lead ship. Saab Receives Order for Australian OPV Situational Awareness System

Saab has received a contract from Luerssen Australia for the Situational Awareness System (SAS) for the Royal Australian Navy’s new Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV).
