December 14, 2018 – On 13 Dec 2018, Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sunayna, an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) of the Southern Naval Command based at Kochi, while being mission deployed, carried out a Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) operation on sighting a suspicious fishing vessel approximately 20 nm off the coast of Somalia in the Horn of Africa. December 2, 2018 – CTF 151 recently conducted Operation Haka on behalf of Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), a Counter Piracy Operation in the Gulf of Aden (GOA)/Socotra Gap. INS Sunayna Seizes Arms and Ammunition Off the Somali Coast

November 13, 2018 – Indian Naval Ship Sunayna while deployed for anti piracy patrol in the Gulf of Aden detected a few suspicious boats approximately 400 nautical miles North East of Mogadishu, off the coast of Somalia, on 09 November 2018. Upon investigation, the boats were found to be carrying one AK-47 and AKMS rifle each, ammunition, magazines, grapnels used for boarding ships and oil drums and the absence of fishing equipment.
