USS Michael Murphy Supports Maritime Interdiction Operations

July 31, 2019 – While conducting routine operations in the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations an MH-60R Sea Hawk assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 37, embarked aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), sighted a low profile vessel on July 25. As the helicopter approached the craft, a hatch opened on the top of the vessel and three passengers were seen jettisoning objects from the boat. USS Chafee returns from Western Pacific deployment

USS Chafee (DDG 90) returned to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam from an independent deployment to the Western Pacific and South America, Jan. 12. Chafee has a crew of nearly 350 officers and enlisted Sailors and is a multi-mission ship designed to operate independently or with an associated strike group. The embarked maintainers and pilots from Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 37 served as the air support for the ship throughout the deployment. USS Preble Responds to Distress Call from Iranian Vessel

USS Preble (DDG 88) rendered aid to a stranded Iranian fishing vessel, Dec. 16 at approximately 1:00 p.m. local time while transiting the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. HSM Wing Pacific Begins Phase Two of DSEI Exercise

Commander, Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Pacific (CHSMWP) began phase two of the annual Diesel Electric Submarine Initiative Exercise (DESI-EX), an international exercise held annually in conjunction with South American Naval Forces, Sept. 8, 2017.
