Rear Adm. Guy Robinson, OBE, Royal Navy, deputy commander, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, traveled to the Gabya-class frigate TCS Gediz (F-495) to meet with her crew. A German P-3 Orion, United States P-8 Poseidon and E-8 Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) conducted a combined anti-submarine exercise with Sdermanland-class submarine HSwMS Sdermanland. Vice. Adm. Lisa M. Franchetti, commander, U.S. 6th Fleet and commander, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO (STRIKFORNATO) traveled to meet the crew of the Duke-class Type 23 frigate HMS Monmouth (F235). During an air defense and joint personnel recovery exercise, two pilots were simulated to be shot down, one over land and the other over water.
