June 20, 2019 – Indian Navy has deployed, in the Gulf of Oman, to re-assure Indian Flagged Vessels operating/ transiting through Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman following the maritime security incidents in the region. Bainbridge Answers Distress Call

June 13, 2019 – USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) responded to a distress call from the M/V Kokuka Courageous in the Gulf of Oman the morning of June 13. The Bainbridge received a call from the Kokuka Courageous crew advising that their ship was in distress approximately 30 nautical miles from Bainbridge’s location. “This is what we’re out here for,” said Cmdr. USS Jason Dunham Seizes Illicit Arms in Gulf of Aden

August 30, 2018 – USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109), deployed to U.S. 5th Fleet, seized an illicit shipment of arms from a stateless skiff in the international waters of the Gulf of Aden, on Aug. 28. The skiff was determined to be stateless following a flag verification boarding, conducted in accordance with international law. USS Shoup Builds Multinational Partnerships During Intrepid Sentinel

A multinational trio of ships conducted the trilateral exercise Intrepid Sentinel in the Gulf of Oman, Oct. 20-21. The U.S. Navy’s guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86), the U.K. Royal Navy’s Duke-class frigate HMS Monmouth (F 235), and the French Marine Nationale’s anti-air destroyer FS Jean Bart (D 615) participated in the exercise.
