HMS Medway handed over as HMS Forth readies for sea

March 13, 2019 – The transformation of the patrol ship force has taken a big step forward as HMS Medway raised the White Ensign for the first time. Forth Maiden Arrival Portsmouth February 24th

The first of the Royal Navy’s next-generation patrol ships set sail from Glasgow today for her homeport of Portsmouth. HMS Forth is the first of a class of five state-of-the-art Royal Navy vessels, designed for counter-piracy, anti-smuggling, fishery protection, border patrol, counter terrorism and other maritime defence duties.
