USS Jason Dunham Officer Dies in Accident

Ensign Sarah Mitchell, 23, of Feasterville PA, died from injuries sustained aboard USS Jason Dunham (DD 109), July 8, 2018. Mitchell was medically evacuated to a hospital in Aqaba, Jordan, and was pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m., local time. The Navy is investigating the circumstances of the death. HMAS Newcastle has completed a five-day port visit alongside Aqaba, Jordan, after her second counter terrorism patrol of Middle Eastern waters. Somali Pirate Sentenced to Life for 2010 Attack on USS Ashland
