November 28, 2018 – USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), flagship of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), and embarked Marines from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), departed the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations, Nov. 25, 2018. USS Bataan Enters U.S. 6th Fleet

USS Bataan (LHD 5), flagship of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (BATARG), and the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) entered U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations Sept. 3, after nearly six months of routine operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of a regularly scheduled deployment.
