The hydrographic vessel NRP Dom Carlos I is on mission until May 18, during this period it will carry out the maintenance of a coastal buoy “ODAS” and all five oceanic multiparametric buoys of the oceanographic data acquisition network, called “MONIZEE”, of the continental coast, as well as carry out hydrographic surveys under the SEAMAP 2030 project.

It should also be noted that the ship will participate in a maritime pollution exercise in the Madeira archipelago, in close collaboration with the National Maritime Authority.

The NRP D. Carlos I since the beginning of the current mission probed an area next to the wind farm located off Viana do Castelo, a total of 13929 km². For this purpose, the ship has a team from the oceanography division of the Hydrographic Institute on board.
