The work carried out consisted of the replacement of hull plates, general painting, valve travel and replacement, tasks on the propellers and rudder blades, coating of the main engines’ exhausts and tank cleaning.

The ARA «Canal de Beagle», dependent on the Naval Transport Command, has extensive logistical capacities for the transport of cargo in general, in bulk, containers, pallets and vehicles. It has a staff of 52 crew members under the command of Lieutenant Commander Ulises Gastón Hoyos, who are getting ready to participate as a logistics bridge within the framework of the Antarctic Summer Campaign 2020-2021.
