Exercise GABIAN 20.2 Concludes in the Mediterranean Sea

June 26, 2020 (Google Translation) – From 15 to 19 June 2020, a new GABIAN 20.2 exercise bringing together 9 surface vessels as well as the 22F , 31F , 35F , 36F flotillas and the 22S squadron was held in the Mediterranean Sea.

Among them were the multi-mission frigates (FREMM) Provence and the Italian frigate Margottini , the command and supply ships (BCR) Var and Marne , the high seas patrol boats (PHM) CDT Ducuing and CDT Bouan , the hunters of tripartite mines (CMT) Orion and Lyre , as well as the minesweeper divers (BBPD) buildings Pluto and Acheron .

This high-intensity exercise trained crews of Naval Action Force vessels and Naval Aviation Force fleets to maintain their operational skills for their upcoming missions.

This GABIAN 20.2 takes place just three weeks after the previous edition which had already brought together ten Toulon buildings. After the slowdown in organic activity induced by the COVID -19 episode, these two intense sequences of mutual exercises made it possible to find an excellent level of operational preparation for all the surface units and fleets available in the Var.
