Navy and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities Sign a Protocol for use of ESPS Hesperides

Its period of validity will be four years, and may be extended by mutual express agreement of the ministries before its completion, for a period of up to four additional years.

Oceanographic vessels are indispensable scientific platforms to be able to address advanced scientific and multidisciplinary objectives internationally competitive in marine research, which are defined in the framework of the projects of the State Plan for R&D and the Framework Program of the European Union (EU). Vessels of oceanic and polar capacity require extremely complex management and close coordination to ensure maximum performance and availability for the scientific community.

Likewise, a favorable regulatory framework is established for the promotion of scientific and technical research, in order to contribute to the generation, dissemination and transfer of knowledge to solve the essential problems of society, its main objective being the promotion of research, experimental development and innovation as elements on which sustainable economic development and social welfare must be established.
