March 5, 2019 – Today, a detachment of ships and support vessels for the Northern Fleet as part of the frigate Admiral of the Soviet Fleet Pots, the multifunctional logistics ship Elbrus, the rescue tug Nikolay Chiker and the medium sea tanker Kama began to pass the English Channel. Before leaving the North Sea, communications were conducted on the frigate and ships, and the order of the march through narrowness was determined.
Previously, the detachment operated in the Mori Firth Bay, fulfilling the tasks of counter-sabotage defense when parked on an unprotected raid and anti-air defense with tracking of airborne targets by radio equipment.
The detachment went on a long hike from Severomorsk on February 26. Currently, the ships have passed more than 1.6 thousand nautical miles and conducted several naval military exercises, including in the search for submarines.
For the crew of the frigate “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Potted” this campaign is the first in its history.
