Ocean Patrol Ship “Araguari” Exercises with Cape Verde Navy

February 20, 2019 (Google Translation) – On February 12, the “Patriotic Oceanic Ship” (NPaOc) “Araguari” carried out exercises with the “Guardian” Patrol Ship of the Cape Verde Navy, on the occasion of Obango Express 2019 , an international joint operation with the participation of 29 countries on the African coast.

Anti-piracy exercises were carried out, as well as leap frog and light line , with approach between ships and passage of cables. The activities had as objective the training of the crews and the partnership between the Marinhas do Brasil and Cape Verde.

After the exercise, NPaOc “Araguari” docked at the Port of Mindelo in Cape Verde, where the Brazilian Ambassador to Cape Verde, José Carlos de Araújo Leitão, was visited on February 13, accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Brazil in Cape Verde, Celso Benedito Sertório, Defense Attaché, Naval, Brazilian Army and Air Force in Cape Verde and the Brazilian Naval Officer in Cape Verde.
