Brazilian Navy Exercises and Patrols in the Blue Amazon

February 1, 2019 (Goolge Translation) – In the period from January 9 to 15, the Task Force formed by the “Caboclo” Corvette (CvCaboclo) and the “Gravataí” (NPaGravatai) and “Guaratuba” (NPaGuaratuba) Patrol Ships under the Eastern Naval Patrol Command , carried out military exercises with the objective of increasing the level of preparation of the subordinate means and patrolling, with a view to contribute to the prevention and repression of transboundary and environmental crimes, in the area of ​​jurisdiction of the Commands of the 2nd and 3rd Naval Districts.


During the commission, internal training (Breakdown Control, Operational Breakdowns, Oil Transfer at Sea, Tactical Maneuvers and Battle Problems) was performed with Naval Patrol and Inspection activities in the northern part of the territorial sea under the jurisdiction of the Command of the 2nd Naval District – north coast of Bahia and coast of Sergipe – and to the south of the maritime area under the jurisdiction of the Command of the 3rd Naval District, to Maceió-AL. During the presence action, fishing vessels were approached and interrogated offshore vessels and platforms.

The ships remained moored between January 12 and 13, in the port of Maceió. During this period, they were open for public visitation. Approximately 2,500 people visited the “Caboclo” Corvette, 1,500 on the “Guaratuba” Patrol Ship and 1,250 on the Gravataí Patrol Ship. Visitors were presented with the concept “Blue Amazon” and information on the activities carried out by ships and the Brazilian Navy.
