November 19, 2018 – On October 22, 2018, Rear Admiral Didier Maleterre, Admiral Commander Indian Ocean Maritime Zone (ALINDIEN), traveled to Colombo, Sri Lanka, as part of the “Dialogue de Galle” forum, where he represented the Chief of Staff of the French Navy.
Inaugurated in 2010, this international maritime forum aims to provide a common platform for stakeholders to express their vision and discuss issues related to maritime issues in the region. This forum which meets a growing success brought together this year representatives of about fifty countries and in particular the heads of delegation Marine. Its purpose is to strengthen cooperation on maritime safety and the sharing of knowledge and information.
ALINDIEN, which took action on maritime issues in the Indian Ocean, was particularly interested in reaffirming the French presence for which this area is of strategic interest. The admiral stressed the need to strengthen our regional cooperation and to conduct joint actions based on the architecture of the structures in place.
