September 27, 2018 – On 12 September 2018, the United States Navy’s USS Jason Dunham – under the command of CTF151 – and INS Teg commanded by the Indian Navy as an Independent Deployer, conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the Gulf of Aden.
The PASSEX included a series of communications and maneuvering exercises, as well as small boat operations. It provided the participating warships valuable opportunities to exercise their communication and coordination linkages, strengthened the mutual understanding of the ships’ capabilities, practices and procedures and enhanced the interoperability between USS Jason Dunham and INS Teg.
The cooperation and coordination of military forces working together helps to enhance understanding, interoperability and mission success. Regular joint training and exercises like this are key to making this happen.
