Northern Fleet completed the delivery of fuel ahead of schedule for remote facilities in the Arctic

September 4, 2018 – The planned delivery of solid fuel oil was completed ahead of schedule for remote and inaccessible objects of the Northern Fleet in the Arctic. For the first time since 2015, the navigational supply of coal has been fully completed before the beginning of the fall.

In total, over 1450 tons of fuel were delivered to remote sites of the fleet on the islands and the continental coast of the Arctic Ocean as part of the northern delivery.

The fuel stock exceeding the normative one was created at all heat generating facilities in the Northern Fleet’s area of responsibility. In total, more than 9,000 tons of fuel oil and about 35,000 tons of coal have been accumulated in the military campuses.

Such reserves will ensure continuous operation of fuel oil boiler houses within a month and a half, and coal ones – almost three months.
