UAV unit of Baltic Fleet start night flights

August 19, 2018 (Google Translation) – A unit of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) started night training flights at one of the training grounds in the Kaliningrad region.

The UAVs are equipped with modern infrared photo and video modules, which are capable to detect even well-disguised enemy objects, including at night, at distances up to 70 km. Flights are performed both over the ground and the Baltic Sea.

The training involves more than 50 servicemen and domestic complexes with Forpost (Russian license-produced version of the Israeli IAI Searcher II drone) and Orlan UAVs, which are in service with the Baltic Fleet.
